Phone Reviews

Is the Motorola RAZR a good phone for On The Go?

The Motorola Razor is a good phone, there are a couple of drawbacks that I see.
In order to get to the memory card slot you have to remove the battery in the back, so it is a little difficult to get to. Secondly, I don't think the internet browser is as good as some others, I think it is limited in where and how you can surf, find things on the internet.

We have two Motorola E815 phones which surf well, have easy access to the memory card slot and play very good audio. The one downside is that when playing back video the screen is not filled with the video.

I just researched the latest offerings and feel that the Motorola SLVR L7 or ROKR may be better choices than the RAZR. Although I have not personally tested these two. They are more durable since they are not flip phones and are newer technology.

All of these phones are free, with a new 2 year agreement of course, which is nice.

If you are thinking of it for business efficiency I would consider one of the
smartphones, PDAs or something like that. They really help with contacts, scheduling althought they do cost a little bit more.

Mobile Phone Terms to know

OTA = Over the air. This means that your videos, music and text are being transferred to and from your phone through the air on the cell network just like your voice is.

Memory Cards

SD - San Disk is most recognized name in memory cards, although other manufacturers make them. Memory cards for phones come in 3 basic forms. Memory cards are used to move music, videos and other info to and from your phone. SD usually refers to the full sized card often used in digital cameras and other devices. All three card shapes can have between 256MB and 2GB of memory capacity. On The Go Studio recommends the 1GB card since it is usually plenty of room and cost effective. To shop for yours click here.

Mini-SD - The mini-SD card is a little smaller than the SD and comes with an adapter to fit into your computers memory card slot.

Micro SD or Transflash - The transflash card is the smallest of the memory cards. Typically used in flip phones.
